Sanford has a beautiful park
near the center of downtown called Depot Park. It is used for music and
entertainment of all kinds for the people of Sanford.
A recent addition to the city,
Depot Park is crowded on summer nights with folks listening to Blue Grass,
Rock and Country Music groups, to name a few.
Built along a highway (U.S.
1) Sanford really never had a “center of the city” so the park was obtained
from the Rail Road and has been used as a “town square” since that time.
If in town, stop by and look at the scenery and activities of the park
located at Carthage Street and Moore Street.

June 10, 2010 was the
opening night of Downtown
Sanford's "Function
at the Junction". The first one to
perform this year is
the terrific band "Heart of Carolina".
